Job Description:

The selectee of this position serves as a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Recruitment & Placement/Compensation).

Job Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be in a unique, high visibility leadership position responsible for managing the hiring process and Federal Law Enforcement Training class placements for the Deputy United States Marshal position. The duties for the position include managing a team which is attracting/recruiting/interviewing and vetting thousands of applicants a year. Additionally, the selectee will be managing the onboarding of between 288 to 400 new Deputy United States Marshals annually. There is a huge learning curve for this position as the recruitment and staffing process is different from a traditional staffing/recruitment supervisory job. This position high visibility and is critical to agency mission. The work is conducted in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and the incumbent must know Federal HR staffing and recruitment policies and practices so they can hit the ground running from a human resources perspective. Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Initial appointments to the SES, require a one-year probationary period.
  • Must complete a Public Financial Disclosure Report before entering on duty.
  • This is a Designated Random Drug Testing position.

Qualification & Experience:

  • As a basic requirement for entry into the SES, applicants must provide evidence of progressively responsible executive leadership and supervisory experience that is indicative of senior executive level management capability and directly related skills and abilities outlined under Executive Core Qualifications and Technical Qualifications listed below. Typically, experience of this nature will have been gained at or above the GS-14/15 grade level in the federal service or its equivalent in the private sector. As such, your resume should demonstrate that you have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully fulfill responsibilities inherent in most SES positions such as: Directing the work of an organizational unit; Ensuring the success of one or more specific major programs or projects; Monitoring progress toward strategic organizational goals,; Evaluating organizational performance and taking action to improve performance; Supervising the work of employees; and exercising important policy-making, policy determining, or other executive functions. Failure to meet the basic qualification requirements and addressing all the Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) and Mandatory Technical Qualifications (MTQs), will result in your application being disqualified.
