Federal US Court Jobs in Dallas for Director of Court Security

Job Description:

This is a new position that presents a unique opportunity for the individual to serve as the principal security expert for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead representative to security committees throughout the circuit. Delivers security solutions as well as evaluates solutions presented.
  • Advises judges and court leadership on the implementation of security measures.
  • Coordinates emergency and security responses with the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), the Federal Protective Service, the General Services Administration, and other federal, state, and local law enforcement and emergency services agencies.
  • Assists with the coordination of security issues on major construction and renovation projects.
  • Coordinates and monitors responses with the USMS on matters of judicial security, including home intrusion detection systems, security escorts, after hours security, and security coverage for events.
  • Develops and implements emergency preparedness plans for appellate court units. Plans and conducts training and drills. Assists other courts throughout the circuit with the same.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • Understanding of the general law enforcement environment, site and judicial security issues, and first response protocols.
  • Familiarity with security systems and standards.
  • Experience developing and implementing emergency preparedness plans.
  • Highly developed and proven leadership, management, and negotiation skills.
  • Must always manifest the highest degree of professionalism, courtesy, and diplomacy; have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills; and unquestionable integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and situations.
  • Work is performed in an office setting with occasional travel. Duties may require working outside of normal business hours

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security, Court Security, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Emergency Preparedness, or related field.
