Job Description:

Under general supervision of the Reimbursement Officer II, performs a variety of technical reimbursement duties in order to obtain reimbursement from the federal government for child care/administrative costs on all youth in care statewide.

Job Responsibilities:

  • For all Title IV-E and Medicaid eligible youth in care, determines ongoing eligibility/claimability throughout the life of the case through the review and analysis of reports, change notices, and the monthly Streamline process; reviews the child’s income, age, placement, and court findings
  • Identifies criteria which may impact eligibility/claimablllty for Medicaid and/or Title IV-E; performs calculations.
  • Completes forms and enters appropriate information into the computer system, including Group Number.
  • Reviews and completes determination of Title IV-E eligibility on adoption assistance (AA) cases and completes redetermination at age 18.
  • Analyzes and completes redetermination and cancellation on corresponding foster care cases.
  • Determines Medicaid eligibility for COBRA (Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) for both the foster care and adoption assistance population of children placed out of state.
  • Serves as liaison with DCFS Interstate Compact and out of state social service agencies regarding eligibility for the COBRA program.
  • Completes and reviews all long-term care budgeting and enrollment paperwork and maintains verbal and written contact with the DHS Long Term Care Unit for children placed in nursing homes or mental health facilities.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Job Requirements:

  • Requires one year of work experience in the reimbursement field
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, with courses in accounting, economics, or business administration, preferably including courses in insurance, estate, and probate law
  • Requires possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to travel.

  • Requires one year of work experience in the reimbursement field.
