Description of Job

This position will be paid biweekly.

What You Will Be Doing

Daily cleaning, sanitizing, and servicing of assigned work area by, sweeping, dust-mopping, wet-mopping, vacuuming, rest room cleaning.
Uses appropriate disinfectant cleaners, chemicals and equipment.
Daily detail cleaning of assigned area by washing wall, doors, frames, sills, windows, baseboards, fixtures, furnishings, ceilings, vents, and light fixtures.
Project floor work consisting of buffing, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and sealing of hard floors surfaces.
Bonnet cleaning, spot cleaning, shampooing, and extracting of carpeted floors.
Deep clean of rooms, detailed cleaning of every aspect in room, carpet cleaning, bed cleaning, floor care, clean curtains, disinfect all hard surfaces, etc.
Collects and disposes of trash and bio-hazardous waste by properly containing and transporting to proper disposal locations.
Participates in moving furniture, appliances, equipment manually and by use of moving equipment.
Replaces light bulbs, assist with minor building repairs.
Cleans and services equipment, maintains custodian closet, stocking, distributing supplies throughout the units and main building following par levels, and chemical labeling requirements.
Custodial work that relates to the general upkeep and sanitation of the assigned area.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have at least six (6) months of custodial experience, experience in hospitality, or performing closely related duties.

Substitutions

None.

Employment history is calculated on a full-time basis (40/hrs per week). Part-time employment is calculated on a pro-rated basis to determine qualifications. Preferred Qualification

Experience in a long-term care/assisted living environment
One year experience working as a custodian
Working with bio-hazardous waste
Conditions of Employment:

Must be willing to submit to a background check
Must be willing to test for Tuberculosis (TB) test.
Essential Services Designation – Must be available for call back to perform essential and/or emergency services of the agency without delay or interruption.
Must be available for shift work, any day and/or any area, to meet agency needs.
Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information on the application and provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position. Absent extraordinary circumstances, prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.
Effective September 20, 2021, this position will require documented proof of full COVID-19 vaccination. On or after October 31, 2021, each facility shall ensure all newly hired employees, direct contractors, or support staff members are fully vaccinated at the time of hire, or receive their first dose of a two-dose protocol, or a single-dose vaccination, prior to providing any care, treatment, or other services for the facility and/or its clients.
