Become a Compliance Senior Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be part of the Operational Compliance organization which manages SCE’s participation in industry reliability forums; reviews energy regulations and laws for documenting compliance requirements; and manages enterprise compliance systems, data, and reporting. You will collaborate with subject matter experts, management, and senior management across the Company to help ensure SCE maintains a strong compliance posture with state and federal energy regulators.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing and developing SCE’s positions in reliability forums, such as FERC, NERC, EEI, and WECC

Manage the process to resolve interpretations of complex regulations and law

Support management of the NERC-related Management Controls Program (CIP-003) and the Bulk Electric System Cyber Systems Program (CIP-002)

Review regulations issued by energy regulators including NERC, CPUC, FERC, CEC, OEIS and CFTC, and federal/state law to identify, assign and document compliance requirements impacting SCE

Provide accurate and timely briefings to senior management on regulatory decisions having a significant compliance impact to SCE
Job Requirements:

Thorough knowledge of electric utility operations

Strong interpersonal and oral communications skills with proven record of building relationships and communicating complex information in a concise and straight forward manner

Excellent written communication skills including the ability to develop effective presentations and management briefings

Three years working in a function across several OUs at SCE

Ability to rapidly learn and assimilate complex technical information and gather relevant information from different sources to resolve problems or issues

Ability to be diplomatic and tactful when resolving conflicts and issues

Strong analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills and the ability to analyze complex regulatory problems and create innovative solutions
Qualification & Experience:
- Five years of experience interpreting policies or regulations, or supporting compliance or regulatory advocacy activities
- Two years of experience with CPUC, FERC, NERC or other state/federal agencies regulatory advocacy, policy, or compliance
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, JD, or related field
