Job Responsibilities:

Serve as a primary liaison between the Authority and the community; assess community values, issues, and concerns to elevate and coordinate as appropriate throughout the organization; remain up to date on current community, local and governmental issues.

Plan, coordinate, and manage a comprehensive legislative program to advance the Authority’s mission and goals; serve as a liaison between the

Authority and local, state, and federal government agencies and offices.

Provide leadership and works with staff to create a high performance, service-oriented work environment.

As assigned by the department director, provide representation of the Authority’s position in regional forums and with other federal, state, and local governmental officials; prepare presentations, talking points, and briefing materials for senior staff and board members.

Monitor and analyze assessments of impacts to the Authority of proposed local, state, and federal legislation, regulations, and other public policy initiatives; propose revisions/amendments or new legislation/resolutions consistent with the needs and interests of the Authority; draft position papers and public testimony.

Obtain letters and other indications of support from elected officials and community leaders for Authority initiatives and other proposals that may impact the organization; fulfills the Authority’s legislative and regulatory reporting requirements.

Qualification & Experience:

Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

At least six years of progressively responsible experience in legislative analysis or intergovernmental affairs.

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in public or business administration, political science, public policy, or a closely related field.
