Job Description:
According to the model of service delivery, general duty assignments are received by a nursing superior; nursing supervision is provided by individuals of a higher classification within the same discipline; work is subject to review and evaluation for compliance with instructions, professional nursing standards and procedures..
Job Responsibilities:
- To act as an integral member of an interdisciplinary team.
- To provide medical and nursing therapies, health care instructions and counseling to clients and families.
- To monitor health status of patients/clients.
- To interpret nursing and health care needs to other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- To provide professional nursing within an in-patient facility or community service facility.
- To document interactions with clients according to agency policy.
- To apply the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and
- To communicate health, medical and nursing information to other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- To provide instructions to patients/clients and staff on an on-going basis.
- To do related work as required.
- To participate in the intake process by interviewing, assessing, and formulating nursing diagnosis and goal setting for patient/clients.
- Evaluation in the care of clients.
- To be responsible and accountable for patient care and other licensed personnel during those work hours when hospital administration and ancillary management personnel are not immediately available for problem resolution and decision making.
Job Requirements:
- Must meet nursing registration requirements as required by Rhode Island law and regulations and must maintain such requirements as a condition of employment. At the time of appointment must be physically qualified to perform assigned duties as evidenced by a physician’s certificate.
Qualification & Experience:
- Such as may have been gained through: graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- A thorough knowledge of current and approved nursing practices and methods; a commitment to maintain competency within the field of nursing through regular participation in continuing nursing education programs, workshops, seminars and conferences; and related capacities and abilities.
