We are seeking a manager of Patient Access for HCA Florida South Shore Hospital to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. South Bay Hospital is now HCA Florida South Shore Hospital. Our 138-bed community hospital has been delivering high-quality healthcare to Florida’s Hillsborough and Manatee counties since 1982. We are proud to provide a wide range of medical specialties, including 24/7 emergency care, cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics and bariatric surgery.
As the Manager of Patient Access, you will be responsible for assisting the Director in daily operations of all Patient Access functions and serves as the liaison between the Shared Service Center (SSC) and the facility. This particular role will manage Main Admissions, the Emergency Department, and the Breast Center as needed.
What you will do in this role:
Perform patient registration function when needed to ensure wait times are kept to a minimum
Model AIDET guidelines in all interactions with the patient and ensure staff are adhering to the patient experience expectations.
Ensure QA on registrations for all areas of Registration
Provide continuous training for and communicates changes to existing employees
Prepare payroll and completes monthly work schedules as needed to ensure adequate staffing levels
Follow-up on patient complaints promptly
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field required. Equivalent work experience may substitute education requirements.
Minimum three years’ experience in related area with two of these years being healthcare management experience OR completion of the Parallon Manager Trainee Program.
