Job Description:
The Learning and Development Associate for our MBKA team will be responsible for strengthening and scaling the MBK Network – a learning community and support system for MBK community leaders that will provide the support, resources, and opportunities needed to measurably strengthen local collective impact efforts and create lasting change for boys and young men of color. The Associate will lead learning and development for the entire MBK Community network, including MBK Impact and Seed Communities, and ad hoc initiatives, such as the MBK Community Database Audit, and Reimagining Policing Pledge. A key member of the MBKA team, the Learning and Development Associate will report to the Deputy Director, Network & Partnerships.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular engagement, recruitment, and support with 200+ MBK Communities
- Develop curriculum, content, and processes that meet the learning needs of the MBK Network
- Create and manage internal and external timelines, stakeholders, and key deliverables
- Manage and facilitate inquiries from new and existing partners, vendors, and Communities; engage Communities to understand best practices and opportunities for improvement; coordinate and moderate Community convenings
- Aggregate, analyze, and organize MBK Network contact data in centralized system
- Benchmark industry best practices, knowledge sharing with subject matter experts
- Launch and scale a youth subcommittee of the MBKA Advisory Council to provide strategic guidance on MBK Alliance programs, and to serve as ambassadors in their respective industries and communities. Manage MBK Alliance’s engagement of youth leaders and learning and development opportunities for youth leaders.
- Plan and execute virtual workshops for mayors, their teams and partners to provide educational tools and analysis on the spectrum of policing and public safety options, alternative public safety models, and community-centered review processes
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of learning and development program design (creating/researching, implementing, and facilitating user-based curriculum)
- Adept at project management
- Work experience in the non-profit sector, particularly in the boys and young men of color field and/or specializing in community development or public private partnerships
- Demonstrated relationship building/management skill set (particularly across industries)
