Job Description:

As an early member of the quickly growing Product and Technology team, the Senior Software Engineer will be key in driving innovation and forward thinking momentum to our digital infrastructure, user-facing experiences, and system architecture. “Full-Stack” in this case encompasses everything from translating wireframes into fully optimized & accessible front-end experiences to final delivery of APIs, database interfaces, and other facets of the software. We are building an engineering team of T-shaped developers

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build the front-end of elegant, visually rich, accessible web apps from foundation to polish
  • Work in partnership with Design and Product, utilizing tools like Figma and Zeplin, to take detailed specifications and turn them into functional applications
  • Implement and maintain a rigorous test suite against common user scenarios
  • Work at scale to help deliver our mission of moving people from hope to action to millions around the world
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Automate and integrate systems between Jira, Github, Figma, Slack and others
  • Implement back-end and infrastructure code in the context of a micro services architecture
  • Contribute to planning, architecture, implementation, integration, and review of software development process individually and among the greater team

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience implementing a micro services architecture through Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure or similar provider
  • 3-5 years experience or more with NodeJS, Python, Elixir, Sveltekit, or similar full stack development environments and toolsets
  • Demonstrated experience managing software development lifecycles to success
  • Deep experience with one or more of these areas is highly desired but not required: graph theory,
  • 1-2 years of experience writing progressive web applications, with a focus on accessibility and usability highly desirable
  • 2-4 years experience or more with implementation and delivery of front-end code, written in React, Svelte, or other technologies
  • Knowledge of and experience with A11y and WCAG standards and implementation practices highly desirable
  • Thrives in diverse, self-starting, collaborative settings, and is committed to the mission of building highly responsive and broadly accessible applications for a common good
