Job Description:
The Visitor Services Supervisor at the American Museum of Natural History is responsible for representing the Museum to the public through direct interaction and communication with Museum visitors and members.
Job Responsibilities:
- Overseeing Guest Services Representatives with assisting all visitors, members of the Museum including corporate, muni and library voucher holders and school and tour groups with their reservations and ticketing.
- Overseeing the daily operation of designated work zone within the Museum, including the Rose Center for Earth and Space. Working to maintain daily proper Guest Services Representative coverage within work zone.
- Possessing a comprehensive knowledge of the membership program including levels and all applicable benefits. Promoting memberships and identifying upselling opportunities and the processing of new member sales into the ticketing system.
- Providing visitor and staff general information regarding Museum exhibits, events, and programs. Having a thorough working knowledge of Tessitura ticketing system and Museum standards, policies, and procedures.
- Facilitate crowd and access control to the Museum, including attractions, and exhibits.
- Overseeing and maintaining staff operation of the Museum Coatroom, school lunchroom and special exhibitions. Overseeing the staff operation of the Planetarium Space Show and the LeFrak theater.
Job Requirements:
- Previous cash handling experience.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be reliable, an energetic team player, and demonstrate the ability to thrive in a dynamic and busy work environment.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Demonstrated effective problem solving skills.
- Must agree to follow and promote all health and safety procedures as detailed by the Museum.
