Job Description:

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Board Relations and Campaign, the Manager of Board and Campaign Operations helps ensure that the systems best cultivate and steward LACMA’s high level donors, the museum’s Board of Trustees and campaign donors and prospects. This role is responsible for managing the operational side of donors and prospects’ organizational and social needs as they relate to LACMA in order to strengthen their engagement with the museum. This role also creates and executes written proposals and other media assets relating to the board and campaign.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports Board and campaign relations team colleagues in the calendaring, planning, and implementation of Board and committee meetings
  • Works with strategic services on in-depth research
  • Works closely with Strategic Services colleagues when appropriate on maintaining and improving data and list integrity for Board and campaign donor information in Tessitura
  • Collaborates with and understands perspectives of Board and campaign relations team colleagues, museum leadership, patrons and others to develop successful systems that will strengthen donor relationships with LACMA and increase contributed support over time
  • Supports Senior Manager in coordination of all building information with other departments
  • Oversees internal planning calendars for Board and campaign relations team projects

  • Coordinates and tracks campaign naming structures with campaign team and cross-departmentally for campaign
  • In close collaboration with Board and campaign relations team, manages reminders, invoicing, receipting, and acknowledging for Board and campaign giving
  • Works closely with Vice President to track, build out, and submit annual board and campaign budgets
  • Maintains these systems and routinely evaluates where to improve processes and increase efficiencies
  • Collaborates with Senior Manager and Graphic Design team to create and project manage all collateral for the board and campaign, including case statement books and presentation materials
  • Compiles top-level research on campaign & board prospects as needed
  • Maintains lists and systems for large-scale mail merge communications
  • Maintains board contact information and roster documents
    Creates customized campaign proposals and presentations on InDesign
  • Tracks milestones and communicates deadlines for all department projects, especially materials & event productions, and board and committee meetings

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Art History, Art Administration, English, Business Administration, Psychology or Political Science
  • At least four years of experience with a contemporary art gallery, auction house or art museum preferred
  • Experience servicing clients or patrons with an exceptionally high level of quality and responsiveness
  • Experience using Tessitura, or an equivalent ticketing and donor database software, database is preferred
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of InDesign
  • Ability to create proposals including text and images
