Job Description:
The HR Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to the HR department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned
- Maintains employment files and records, including annual archiving of department records and files
- Provides employment verification for current and former employees, and completes public service loan forgiveness (PSLF) forms
- Updates and maintains HR department intranet homepage and employee title/status changes museum-wide on the intranet directory
- Provides assistance with new employee orientation
- Assists HR Coordinator with hiring through temp agencies
- Drafts correspondence for various processes and completes wage forms
- Supports AVP and HR Manager with scheduling meetings and calendar management
- Maintains office supplies
- Provides administrative support to the Museum’s Rideshare, Wellness, and Internship programs
- Processes department invoices and tracks billing
- Responds to various employee inquiries relating to HR procedures and operations
- Performs data entry related to employment changes, such as exit interviews, address changes, training records, and tracking annual performance reviews
- Assists with annual legal employment postings
- Opens and distributes incoming mail for the HR department
- Processes status/classification change forms
- Assists the Benefits Administrator with coordination and planning of the following: semi-annual Rideshare Luncheons, wellness initiatives and semi-annual blood drives
- Maintains HR department events schedule on the museum’s event calendar
- Sends electronic benefits and termination packets
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field
- At least one year of administrative experience
