Job Description:
Collins Aerospace Mission Systems division is seeking a talented operations leader with strong presence and influence to lead a business unit operations function within Mission Systems, which in total represents. The ideal candidate is a strong catalyst and strategic leader who can demonstrate ownership and accountability of operational productivity, efficiency, and lean manufacturing tools and processes to transform operations performance. The candidate must be able to articulate clearly and concisely to executives and communicate complex strategies in practical language to the company, customers, and end-users to ensure flawless results and financial performance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Align with matrixed organizations of Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and Human Resources to achieve all operational goals.
- Accelerate the adoption and implementation of ACE (Achieving Competitive Excellence), RTX’s operating system for driving Continuous
- Improvement, and apply lean manufacturing principles in all operational areas of the business.
- Create and execute annual operating and capital budgets and monthly commitments; lead the team to achieve targets and proactively adjust according to volume and market requirements.
- Develop, own and implement operations strategy to meet customer requirements and overall business objectives, including driving profitability through factory automation.
- Work with SBU leadership to manage new program introductions on-cost and on-time.
- Set vison for a large, diverse, multi-national team and drive excitement and energy to achieve the vision.
- Ensure strong operational leadership team and processes are in place to drive daily metrics of quality, cost, safety, and delivery.
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated record driving continuous performance improvement in a lower volume, higher mix, discrete manufacturing environment
- Bachelor’s degree and 15 years of relevant experience or advanced degree and 12 years of relevant experience with demonstrated progressive work experience of increasing importance and complexity within a global manufacturing enterprise
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership in a fast-paced, multi-site, matrix environment to ensure expectations are met relative to delivery, quality, cost, and inventory
- Experience fostering an environment where diversity and inclusion are developed and leveraged to create value for the business
