Job Description:
This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Base Elizabeth City, Maintenance Branch of Facilities Engineering Division, Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
Job Responsibilities:
- Following operational protocols for- aquatic systems.
- Inspecting, operating, and repairing manual backwash systems, wave generation system, industrial aquatic sand filtration system and the Ultra Violet (UV) water treatment system.
- Installing, modifying, and repairing new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems and equipment.
- Cleaning, lubricating, and maintaining the tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Performing and/or assisting with some duties associated with other trades.
- Adjusting, repairing, and replacing chemical controllers to include calibration and standardization.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair etc.
- Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
- Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (Screen-out Element)
- Ability to interpret instructions, specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading)
- Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment
- Use of measuring instruments
- Knowledge of Materials
