Job Description:

This position is located in the Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center (SILC), Engineering Services Division (ESD), position will be located at one of the following duty stations: Providence, RI, Norfolk, VA, Miami, FL, Cleveland, OH, Oakland, CA, Seattle, WA, Juneau, AK, Honolulu, HI.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing and inspecting fire protection systems for code compliance, proper maintenance and operation, analyzing reports, drawings, and inspections to define project scope consistent with applicable fire protection codes.
  • Participating in scheduled design reviews and conferences to ensure methods, plans and specifications are clearly defined and provides guidance to improve the design.
  • Drafting reports, correspondence, memoranda, press releases or other documents relevant to program activities, preparing and submitting strategic planning documents such as Master Plans and Shore System Studies for assigned assets.
  • Serving as a construction technical representative, providing authoritative technical advice and guidance to the project manager and contractor performing work required by the contract.
  • Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Fire Protection Engineering for ) Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center (SILC) enterprise contributing to, and assisting in the design, implementation and evaluation of programs and projects related to building modification and retrofit, and facility configuration control.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
