Job Description:
This position is located in the Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center (SILC), Engineering Services Division (ESD), position will be located at one of the following duty stations: Providence, RI, Norfolk, VA, Miami, FL, Cleveland, OH, Oakland, CA, Seattle, WA, Juneau, AK, Honolulu, HI.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyzing and inspecting fire protection systems for code compliance, proper maintenance and operation, analyzing reports, drawings, and inspections to define project scope consistent with applicable fire protection codes.
- Participating in scheduled design reviews and conferences to ensure methods, plans and specifications are clearly defined and provides guidance to improve the design.
- Drafting reports, correspondence, memoranda, press releases or other documents relevant to program activities, preparing and submitting strategic planning documents such as Master Plans and Shore System Studies for assigned assets.
- Serving as a construction technical representative, providing authoritative technical advice and guidance to the project manager and contractor performing work required by the contract.
- Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Fire Protection Engineering for ) Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center (SILC) enterprise contributing to, and assisting in the design, implementation and evaluation of programs and projects related to building modification and retrofit, and facility configuration control.
Job Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
