- Performs mechanical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment equipment and machinery.
- Determines nature of malfunctions and suggests how to repair, or if equipment should be returned to the shop for a major overhaul.
- Decides when shafts need lubricating, additional oil for the engine is needed, plugs, points, etc. May be required to work in confined spaces.
Job Requirements:
- Mechanic I: High school graduate plus one year of industrial mechanic experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience in wastewater treatment plants preferred.
- Mechanic II: High school graduate plus two years of industrial mechanic experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience in wastewater treatment plants preferred.
