Job Description:
Instruct participants, develop and implement lesson plans, inspects classroom/program environment and equipment to ensure safety, complete administrative tasks including skill assessments, attendance, class evaluations, and more.
Job Responsibilities:
- With guidance from supervisor performs airport patrols and daily inspections and other functions associated with airport operations, which assures the airport’s compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conducts and assists with the repair and maintenance of airport equipment, hangars, buildings, and grounds. Twenty-four (24) hour on-call events such as snow removal during winter months, including weekends and holidays.
- Performs general operations and assists with the maintenance of all airport vehicles and equipment, including tractors, mowers, snowplows and dump trucks. Conducts job duties safely within an airport environment where aircraft operations occur.
- Maintain the airfield and facilities in compliance with the Airport Certification Manual and all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Upon completion of required training, assists the Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) in maintaining the airport’s compliance with TSA Part 1542 Security Regulations and the Airport Security Plan (ASP).
Job Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills are required. Ability to work with a diverse group of people effectively and diplomatically.
- Strong customer service skills and communication skills are required.
- Ability to handle difficult situations involving participants with patience, good judgment, and diplomacy.
- Must be able to physically lead and demonstrate the skill/activity.
- May require pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, positioning and moving heavy equipment.
- Must possess the strength and stamina to perform strenuous physical activity.
- Strong knowledge of rules and regulations of sport required. Course work in recreation, education or related field preferred.
Job Qualification:
- Three (3) years’ experience in general maintenance or related field with an emphasis on duties most closely related to the essential job functions including operating various types of equipment required.
- Experience working at an airport and operating airport equipment with aircraft operational areas preferred.
- Experience working at a Part 139 Certificated airport preferred.
