Job Description:
Directly provide custodial support, security, and responsiveness to facility guests’ needs by cleaning, performing events/program/class setups, strikes, and locking/ unlocking of the facility. Flexible work shifts are required and may include early mornings, evenings, after hours,holidays and weekends. Performs varied maintenance and custodial work at the Chilson Recreation/Senior Center. Must be at least 16 years of age.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drives truck to deliver personnel and equipment to work sites; ensures truck is stocked with necessary materials and tools; cleans debris from work sites.
- Jack-hammers asphalt to prepare site for patching.
- Performs a thorough pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspection of assigned equipment.
- Performs routine maintenance on assigned vehicle.
- Operate snow removal equipment on a twelve-hour shift, as designated by supervisor.
- Prepares vehicle mileage reports.
- Operates a variety of equipment such as tractor with drag box, tractor/mower, pavement roller, crack-seal machine, forklift, street sweeper, tandem-axle dump truck, dump truck w/ snowplow and spreader, liquid anti-icing/deicing truck, water truck, pothole spray patching machine,
- motor-grader, front-end loader, Roto-Mill, and Asphalt paver on a limited basis.
- Hauls, rakes and shovels hot mix asphalt and road base. Fix potholes.
Job Requirements:
- Must possess knowledge of road construction, repairs, and general maintenance procedures.
- Must possess skill in the operation of light to medium equipment needed to construct, repair and maintain roads.
- Must possess considerable knowledge of snow and ice control techniques, materials, and be able to operate snowplows with anti-icing/de-icing equipment. Must work safely and follow all established safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Must be able to follow oral instructions and communicate effectively with co-workers, lead workers and supervisors.
- Must have a basic knowledge of the City’s geography.
- Must be able to work odd hours, weekends and overtime, particularly during snow season.
