Job Description:

The Financial Services Department is responsible for all fiscal matters related to the City of Irving. Financial Services provides useful, timely, and reliable financial information and support to city staff, management, council, citizens, and external parties.
Job Responsibilities:
- Duties include supervising professional accountants; reviewing general ledger account reconciliations; planning and directing the preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and related statements; preparing monthly financial reports; investigating and resolving complex accounting issues; monitoring the implementation of internal and external audit recommendations; developing financial policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP; interpreting / implementing Governmental Accounting Standard Board Statements; and assisting in annual budget preparation and administration.
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field and five years relevant experience, including two years supervisory experience required. Governmental accounting experience preferred and Tyler Munis experience a plus. Must currently be a CPA or be able to obtain Texas licensure within a specified timeframe. Hours may include some evenings and weekends. A résumé must be submitted with application.
