Job Description:
Under supervision, performs a variety of clerical duties relative to personnel administration for the Department of Planning & Development and the Department of Housing, and performs related duties as required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinates employee trainings with DHR, Directions, and other training vendors
- Responds to employee inquiries regarding personnel paperwork and timekeeping matters
- Preforms timekeeping data entry and runs timekeeping reports
- Coordinates bi-monthly payroll and timesheet distribution
- Maintains employee personnel, payroll, and timekeeping records and files
- Prepares orientation packets for all new hires
- Prepares and processes documents necessary to implement personnel actions such as employee indebtedness, name and address changes,
- employment verifications, and ensures that required forms are completed, submitted, logged, and filed
- Creates and maintains spreadsheets to track workforce data (e.g. Reasonable Accommodations, Dual Employment, Absenteeism, Professional
- Development/Trainings, Appointments, Resignations, Promotions, Disciplinary Actions, Legal Matters, Grievances, etc.)
Qualification & Experience:
- One (1) year of personnel/human resources work experience OR at least 30 semester hours or equivalent quarter hours from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a directly related field.
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher
- Previous administrative/clerical experience in a professional office setting
