Job Description And Duties

Under the direction of the Underground Injection Control (UIC) Program Manager, Senior Oil and Gas Engineer (Supervisor), the Associate Oil and Gas Engineer (AOGE) will function as a UIC Program Engineer within the California Geologic Energy Management Division’s (CalGEM) Headquarters. The incumbent will perform assignments that require a high degree of knowledge in hydrocarbon production technology or closely related field, including but not limited to, oil/gas/geothermal well design, field operations, petroleum geology, and extraction and injection processes, to prevent damage to life, health, property, and natural resources and optimize the resource. This position will require frequent travel to CalGEM District offices, and the extensive review of well files, projects, notices, oilfield operations, and other related duties.
